About: 
This mixed media work is part of my new series Hybrid Identity, where I explore the blurred lines of belonging, especially for those of us shaped by migration, memory, and in-between spaces.
 
In this piece, I brought together two queens:
👑 Queen Victoria, from the time of Indian colonization
👑 Gayatri Devi, Indian royalty navigating a changing nation
 
They lived in different worlds—but were bound by power, beauty, and the weight of expectation.
 
This work reflects on not just their faces, but the contrast in everything from what they wore to the crowns they carried. Their images sit together in the same space, echoing how cultures overlap—sometimes clashing, sometimes harmonizing.
 
It’s a reminder: we’re often more alike than we think… just wrapped in different fabrics.
